Chesapeake Area Metalworking Society
Review of 26 October
2000 Meeting
Fairland Public Library
14910 Old Columbia Pike
Burtonsville, MD
The October turnout was rather small, around a dozen.
The members listen as Art Lyman talks about electric motors.
Art gave us a very interesting lecture about electric motors and generators
by way of describing his work history with large motor installations and
generating plants going back several decades.
Various electric motors, starters, testing gear and books were
brought for display by Steve Stallings.
Roy Schaffer presented some history of drills and accessories.
A wooden drill stand with cover.
A rare cast iron stand for taper shank drills.
The meeting ended
around 11 PM and, as usual, a few folks
went out
to terrorize a local late night diner..
