Chesapeake Area Metalworking Society
Mailing List Information
NOTE: You must be subscribed in order to post. This applies to EVERY address that you use for posting. If you wish to post from multiple addresses, each of those addresses must be subscribed. You can go to the Options web page and turn off mail delivery for email addresses that you only use for posting.
NOTE: The list server restricts attachments to 200 KBytes or less. Only JPG, GIF, PDF, ZIP, and TXT files are accepted. Executables, scripts, Word documents (risk of embedded macros), and Excel documents are not allowed.
The Chesapeake Area Metalworking Society is a club that was spawned from the rec.crafts.metalworking newsgroup on the Internet. As such, it is only natural that we communicate with one another using e-mail. The club maintains an e-mail list server which functions as a non-real-time chat group.
The list server also serves as the primary method of notifying members about meetings.
Anyone may join our list provided that they furnish their real name and do not use the list to transmit spam, vulgarities, or excessive off topic material.
By subscribing to the CAMS list server, you agree not to post any material that infringes on copyrights of others or which is illegal under the laws of the United States of America or the State of Virginia.
By subscribing to the CAMS list server, you agree to permit the list server to include your name and email address in messages sent to our subscribers. This information is available to any person who subscribes and receives messages from the list server, but not to the general public browsing our web site. You may choose to provide a nick-name or handle in place of your real name, but real names are preferred so that members can relate the person on the list with the people that the encounter at meetings, yard sales, and other CAMS events.
By posting a message on the CAMS list server you grant the owner of the CAMS-CLUB.org domain the non-exclusive right to publish the content the message on the list, and to aggregate the content into any future derivative work. This may include browsable archives that can be accessed by anyone subscribed to the list server.
Information on using the list server is given below.
You may join (subscribe to) this list by filling out the form here:
http://lists.cams-club.org/listinfo.cgi/machinists2-cams-club.org
When joining, you must respond to the confirmation email before your subscription becomes active.
Only subscribers are allowed to post messages to the list server.
When responding to a message, please trim away excess quoted information that does not need to be repeated and change the subject line if you are now discussing a new topic. This is especially important when using digest mode since the incoming subject line will be the digest number and the quoted information will be the entire digest.
It is also advisable when replying to a message to check the "TO" address to see that it is actually going to the list server. A few people post using software which causes the reply to go to them as an individual, rather than to the list server.
Leave the list by using this web page to Unsubscribe:

Control your options such as Digest mode or MIME content by using this web page:

E-mail address, password, and other changes can be managed using the same options web page:
http://lists.cams-club.org/options.cgi/machinists2-cams-club.org
When changing your email address, you must respond to the confirmation email before your change becomes active.
Filters, bounced mail, auto-responders - If you use spam filters you may need to set your filter software to always accept e-mail from the list server. Rejected e-mail is counted by the list server and if you get too many bounces your subscription will be turned off.
Post Only accounts - If you need to post from email accounts that are not the same as where you wish to receive the list emails, you can set up an additional account for the post only account and then go to the options page and set it for Mail Delivery - Disabled.
